Meta has introduced a new suite of artificial intelligence capabilities designed to transform Meta AI from a conversational assistant into a proactive digital companion capable of planning tasks, conducting research and managing day-to-day activities on behalf of users.
The new features are powered by Muse Spark 1.1, Meta's latest AI model, which the company says represents another step toward its vision of building "personal superintelligence"—an AI system that understands users' context, anticipates their needs and completes tasks with minimal input.
According to Meta, the upgraded model now powers both the Meta AI app and Meta.ai, enabling the assistant to move beyond answering questions to executing multi-step tasks from beginning to end.
AI That Plans, Organises and Takes Action
With the latest update, Meta AI can now help users manage projects, create personalised plans and follow through on ongoing tasks without requiring repeated prompts.
For example, someone planning a kitchen renovation can ask Meta AI to learn their preferred style, search Marketplace for furniture and fixtures within a specified budget, and generate a visual mood board to bring the ideas together.
Similarly, users preparing for a half marathon can receive customised training schedules that automatically adjust to their availability, with weekly updates delivered every Monday.
The assistant can also organise events such as birthday dinners by recommending restaurants, checking calendar availability and suggesting suitable dates.
Daily Briefings and Automated Reminders
Meta AI now offers personalised daily briefings by combining information from users' calendars with relevant updates.
The assistant can identify scheduling conflicts, notify users of changes to upcoming plans and provide summaries at preferred times during the day.
Once users assign recurring tasks, Meta AI can continue handling them automatically without additional prompts. These tasks may include generating weekly meal plans, tracking product launches such as sneaker releases or delivering updates on topics of personal interest.
According to Meta, users simply need to specify what information they want and how often they want to receive it.
Research and Presentation Tools Expanded
The company has also enhanced Meta AI's research capabilities.
Users can now ask the assistant to gather and summarise information from multiple online sources, including research papers as well as content shared by creators and communities across Meta's platforms.
The AI can then transform that information into presentation slides or other visual formats, helping users understand complex subjects more quickly.
Meta also introduced real-time editing while AI-generated content is being created. Instead of waiting until a task is complete, users can interrupt the process to request changes, alter the tone, shift the focus or remove sections as the content is generated.
All completed projects—including presentations, mood boards, reports and training plans—are automatically stored within the Meta AI app, allowing users to revisit, update and share them.
Rollout Begins in Select Markets
Meta said the new capabilities are beginning to roll out in selected markets through the Meta AI app and Meta.ai, with availability expected to expand to additional countries and platforms, including WhatsApp, in the coming weeks.
The company added that users will continue to have different ways of interacting with Meta AI, whether for quick answers, personalised recommendations, shopping inspiration or private conversations through Incognito chats.

The latest update reflects Meta's broader ambition to develop AI systems that become deeply integrated into users' daily lives by reducing routine tasks and providing personalised assistance.
