Samsung has expanded the availability of its Galaxy XR headset to the United Kingdom, marking another step in the global rollout of its mixed reality device after its initial debut in South Korea and the United States.

The premium headset is now available through Samsung's online store in the UK after opening for pre-orders in mid-June. The launch gives British consumers access to Samsung's latest extended reality platform, which combines virtual and augmented reality experiences with Google's AI-powered ecosystem.

The Galaxy XR carries a recommended retail price of £1,699. To encourage early adoption, Samsung is offering buyers a complimentary Explorer Pack, valued at £665, for a limited period, although the company has not disclosed when the promotion will end.

The bundle includes a one-year subscription to Google AI Pro, YouTube Premium, Google Play Pass, Calm Premium, and Project Pulsar by Adobe. It also comes with access to NFL PRO ERA and the Asteroid immersive experience, giving users a range of productivity, entertainment and wellness applications out of the box.

Premium Hardware and Performance

Designed to deliver high-end mixed reality experiences, the Galaxy XR is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor, a chipset built specifically for extended reality devices.

The headset features 4K Micro-OLED displays, offering sharp visuals and vibrant colours for immersive gaming, entertainment and productivity. Samsung says the device delivers up to 2.5 hours of battery life on a single charge, depending on usage.

Accessories Available at Discount

Samsung is also offering optional accessories alongside the headset.

The Galaxy XR Travel Case and Galaxy XR Controllers are each priced at £249, but customers can purchase both accessories at a 30 per cent discount until September 30.

Additional Launch Offers

The company has introduced further promotional discounts for customers purchasing other Galaxy products alongside the headset.

Consumers who buy the Galaxy XR together with any Galaxy smartphone before August 4 will receive a 10 per cent discount on the headset.

Samsung is also offering 10 per cent off any Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds purchased alongside the Galaxy XR, with that promotion running until September 30.

The UK launch broadens Samsung's presence in the growing extended reality market as the company seeks to compete in the premium XR segment with a device that combines advanced hardware, AI-powered software and a broad ecosystem of digital services.
