Partnership Targets Secure Digital Transformation, Data Sovereignty and AI Adoption Across Region
Technology firms TeKnowledge and Equinix have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating secure hybrid and multi-cloud adoption while supporting the development of AI-ready digital infrastructure across West Africa.
The collaboration comes as Nigeria’s digital economy continues to expand, with technology-driven activities playing an increasingly important role in national economic growth. Rising demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), digital payment solutions and data-driven services has created new opportunities for businesses and public institutions seeking stronger digital capabilities.
Through the partnership, organisations across the region will gain access to secure, high-performance digital environments that combine local infrastructure with global technology expertise.
The alliance brings together Equinix’s data centre infrastructure and secure interconnection capabilities with TeKnowledge’s expertise in designing, deploying and managing solutions in artificial intelligence, data management, customer experience and cybersecurity.
The companies said the partnership would help enterprises and government institutions overcome challenges associated with digital transformation by providing reliable platforms that support innovation while meeting data residency and sovereignty requirements.
Speaking on the development, Chief Executive Officer and President of TeKnowledge, Aileen Allkins, said organisations across Africa were increasingly seeking modern infrastructure solutions that could deliver efficiency, security and regulatory compliance.
“Organisations across Africa are increasingly looking to modernise their infrastructure while maintaining the performance, security, and compliance required to support growth.
Through our partnership with Equinix, we are combining world-class digital infrastructure with deep local expertise to help customers accelerate cloud adoption, strengthen resilience, and unlock new opportunities through AI and emerging technologies,” she said.
According to the companies, the partnership is designed to help businesses deploy advanced digital services faster while ensuring that critical data remains protected within appropriate regulatory frameworks.
Managing Director of Equinix West Africa, Wole Abu, expressed optimism about the collaboration, describing it as an opportunity to combine Equinix’s global digital ecosystem with TeKnowledge’s regional knowledge and implementation capabilities.
He said the partnership would leverage Equinix’s interconnected platform, which spans more than 280 data centres and serves over 10,000 customers globally, to support organisations seeking scalable digital solutions.
The partnership is expected to play a role in strengthening West Africa’s digital infrastructure landscape by enabling greater access to cloud technologies, artificial intelligence tools and cybersecurity solutions.
As businesses and governments across the region continue to prioritise digital transformation, the two companies said their collaboration would provide the infrastructure and expertise needed to support sustainable innovation and economic growth.
