Reality star says she has moved on but accuses Phyna of repeatedly dragging her into public disputes.
Former Big Brother Naija housemate Chichi has reignited her long-running dispute with fellow reality television star Phyna, accusing the BBNaija winner of courting attention amid the ongoing controversy surrounding a N15 million celebrity boxing deal.
Chichi, who addressed the development in a strongly worded statement, said she believed their differences had been settled after the 2023 BBNaija reunion but alleged that Phyna had continued to mention her name in public conversations.
The latest exchange has once again brought the long-running tension between the two reality stars into the spotlight, drawing reactions from fans and social media users.
Chichi said she had moved on from the disagreement following the reunion and recalled making strong declarations against Phyna at the time.
“I have moved on since the 2023 Big Brother reunion show ended, and I laid enough curses on Phyna. Everything currently happening to you is a result of those curses. Because of a N15 million boxing deal saga, you have been shouting over the money like a lunatic.”
Her remarks came against the backdrop of the dispute surrounding the proposed celebrity boxing event and the money allegedly involved in the deal.
‘Winning BBNaija is not the ultimate’
Beyond the current controversy, Chichi also sought to downplay the importance of winning the reality television competition, arguing that contestants should be judged by what they achieve after leaving the show.
“Winning BBNaija is not the ultimate. What matters is what happens after the show,” she said.
The comment appeared to be a broader reflection on life after reality television, where former housemates often pursue careers in entertainment, business, influencing and other sectors.
Chichi subsequently turned her attention to Phyna’s public dispute with influencer Ashmusy, accusing her fellow reality star of being overly focused on publicity.
She questioned why some brands and personalities might be reluctant to associate themselves with Phyna and claimed that she herself had rejected an invitation to participate in the celebrity boxing event.
‘I am not desperate for fame’
Chichi said organisers of the boxing event had also contacted her through direct messages but claimed she declined the offer.
“Girl, at this point, you need to take a chill. Have you ever sat down and asked yourself why people don’t want to associate their brand with you? I am not a brokie like you, nor am I desperate for fame. I was born to be famous.
“Those people also reached out to me in my DM, but I rejected it because I am not desperate for fame. I grew up on the streets, but I am not a mad woman. You’re a disgrace to the people from the streets,” Chichi added.
The comments have sparked renewed debate among BBNaija fans, with social media users divided over the latest development.
While some users have urged both reality stars to put their differences behind them and move on, others have questioned why their years-old disagreement continues to resurface.
The latest exchange has once again highlighted the intense rivalries that can develop among former reality-show contestants, even years after they leave the programme.
For now, the latest comments have added another chapter to the longstanding Chichi-Phyna feud, with fans watching closely to see whether Phyna will respond.
