Yoruba actress Bimbo Adebayo has publicly extended an olive branch to her senior colleague, Itele, in a bid to end a disagreement that has kept both actors apart for almost a year.
In an emotional Instagram post shared on Monday, Adebayo opened up about the strain caused by the prolonged silence between them, saying she had reached a point where she no longer wanted the dispute to continue.
“I’m making this post because my heart is tired of the silence,” the actress wrote.
Adebayo, while acknowledging Itele’s seniority, said she had chosen to pursue peace rather than allow the disagreement to deepen.
“Sometimes, being the bigger person is choosing peace over chaos,” she said.
The actress admitted that although she had been deeply hurt by the events that led to the disagreement, she was willing to take responsibility for any part she may have played in escalating the situation.
Addressing Itele directly, she wrote: “Even though I was deeply hurt by what happened, @iteledicon01, I’m using this medium to say if I have said anything, done anything or reacted in a way that hurt you, I’m sincerely sorry, pls forgive me.”
Adebayo also reflected on the emotional cost of holding on to past grievances, noting that her perspective on the dispute had changed with time.
According to her, “life is too short,” while “holding on to pain only keeps the wound open.”
The actress further explained that her decision to seek reconciliation was not an admission that her feelings about the dispute were insignificant, but rather a recognition that preserving peace was more important than prolonging the conflict.
“Everyone that knows me knows that I’m ‘OMO LILE’! But some battles are not worth winning. Sometimes all your heart truly wants is PEACE,” she wrote.
She disclosed that the disagreement had resulted in nearly a year of silence, describing the period as one marked by “hurt, pride and things left unsaid.”
“For almost a year, there’s been silence between us. A whole year of hurt, pride and things left unsaid,” she said.
Beyond appealing directly to Itele, Adebayo also invited her followers to support the reconciliation effort. She asked fans to pray for peace between the two actors and encouraged those who felt inclined to tag Itele in the post.
“And to everyone seeing this post, please say a little prayer for peace between us. And if you feel led to tag him please do,” she said.
The public appeal has placed the long-running disagreement between the two Yoruba film personalities in the spotlight, while Adebayo’s message signals her willingness to put the dispute behind them.
Her decision to seek peace publicly also underscores the emotional and professional pressures that can accompany prolonged disagreements within the entertainment industry, where colleagues often work together across multiple film projects and social circles.
