Nigerian actress Dior Adiele has publicly asked her mother to leave her home, weeks after she raised concerns over her brother’s alleged drug addiction and the effect of the situation on her family.
Adiele disclosed this in a series of social media posts in which she described her relationship with her mother as a source of emotional and financial distress. She said she had reached a point where she needed to prioritise her wellbeing and that of her daughter, who also lives in the house.
“I want this woman out of my fucking space,” the actress wrote, alleging that her mother had refused to leave because she had nowhere else to go.
Adiele also accused her mother of putting a heavy financial burden on her despite the years she had spent working and earning money. According to the actress, she had been financially responsible from a young age and believed her childhood had been taken away from her by circumstances at home.
“My childhood was stolen from me. I started paying rent at 16, in a house I lived in with her and my siblings,” she wrote.
The actress further alleged that her mother had rendered her and her siblings homeless on three occasions, describing the experience as part of a long-running pattern of family difficulties.
Adiele claimed that she had earned enough money over the years to invest in landed properties but was unable to do so because of the financial demands placed on her.
“I made money, I made crazy money to afford me some landed properties, but this woman drained my every dime,” she said.
Her latest disclosure comes weeks after the actress spoke publicly about her brother’s alleged drug addiction. At the time, she expressed concern over his behaviour and said the situation had become increasingly difficult for the family to manage.
Adiele also linked her decision to speak out to her responsibility as a mother, saying she was particularly worried about the environment in which her daughter was living.
“My daughter needs me; I want to be sane for her. I have been used for too long; I am losing my mind,” she wrote.
The actress’s comments highlight what she described as years of unresolved family and financial pressures. However, the allegations against her mother and brother are claims made by Adiele, and no independent evidence or response from the family members was provided in the posts cited.
