Veteran bandleader Ogunyinka Olalekan Olaitan to headline performances across London and other UK venues.
Veteran Juju musician Ogunyinka Olalekan Olaitan and his Lagos-based Eagle Band are preparing to take Nigeria's indigenous music beyond its borders as the group embarks on a six-month performance tour across the United Kingdom.
The musical tour, which runs from August 15, 2026, to February 13, 2027, is expected to feature a series of live performances aimed at entertaining the Nigerian diaspora while showcasing the richness of Juju music and promoting Nigeria's cultural heritage to international audiences.
Led by Olaitan, a respected figure in Nigeria's live music scene, the 11-member ensemble has built a reputation over the years for blending traditional Juju rhythms with contemporary sounds, a style that has earned the band a loyal following at social events and cultural gatherings.
According to the bandleader, the tour will officially begin on August 15, 2026, with an opening concert tagged "We Love Together" at Enish, located at 291–293 Ilford High Road, IG1 1NR, London.
The UK tour is being promoted by Topnotch Global Venture International Limited, a UK-based entertainment company, which is coordinating the band's performances across several venues during the six-month engagement.
Olaitan disclosed that one of the major highlights of the tour will be the "Eko Night" concert scheduled for August 19, 2026, at Success Hall, 709 Old Kent Road, London.
The band will also perform at the New Nollywood Entertainment Studio, situated at Crown Commercial Centre, 71–73 Nathan Way, London, where it is expected to share the stage with Odun Akintomide's band as part of the tour lineup.
Organisers said the tour is designed not only to celebrate Juju music but also to reconnect Nigerians in the diaspora with their cultural roots through live performances that reflect the country's rich musical traditions.
Beyond the concerts, the UK engagement will also provide Eagle Band with an opportunity to produce and officially launch a new music video, further expanding the group's reach within the international music market.
Born on June 9, 1973, in Lagos, Olaitan has spent more than two decades performing on Nigeria's Juju music circuit.
His musical foundation was shaped through formal training at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, before advancing his studies at the renowned Peter King's College of Music, where he further honed his skills in music performance and composition.
According to close associates, the veteran musician remains committed to elevating Juju music on the global stage, with a long-term ambition of becoming one of the most recognisable names in Nigeria's music industry while preserving and promoting the genre for future generations.
