Buyback continues as telecom giant acquires 2.5 million Class B shares in five trading days

Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson has repurchased 2.5 million of its own Class B shares for a total of SEK 241.75 million as part of its ongoing SEK 15 billion share buyback programme.

The purchases were carried out on Nasdaq Stockholm between August 10 and August 14, 2026, with Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE executing the transactions on Ericsson’s behalf.

Ericsson bought 500,000 shares on August 10 at a weighted average price of SEK 96.1693 per share, followed by its largest daily purchase of 1 million shares on August 11 at SEK 95.7603.

The company then acquired another 500,000 shares on August 12 at SEK 97.9912 per share. Purchases slowed to 250,000 shares each on August 13 and August 14, at weighted average prices of SEK 98.1423 and SEK 97.5124, respectively.

Across the five-day period, Ericsson paid an average of SEK 96.7017 per share, bringing the total transaction value to SEK 241,754,225.

Part of SEK 15 billion programme

The latest purchases form part of a share buyback programme of up to SEK 15 billion that Ericsson announced on April 16, 2026. The programme began on April 23 and is scheduled to run until March 31, 2027, at the latest.

Ericsson’s Board of Directors intends to recommend that the 2027 Annual General Meeting cancel the repurchased shares, except for shares that may be required to meet the company’s obligations under its share-based incentive programmes.

The buyback is being conducted under the European Union’s market-abuse rules, including Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 and the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/1052, commonly referred to as the Safe Harbour Regulation.

Treasury stock rises to nearly 97.7 million shares

Following the latest transactions, Ericsson holds 97,669,316 Class B shares as treasury stock.

The company has 3,371,351,735 shares outstanding in total, comprising 261,755,983 Class A shares and 3,109,595,752 Class B shares.

The continued repurchases form part of Ericsson’s broader capital-allocation strategy, allowing the company to return capital to shareholders while retaining shares that may be used for employee incentive arrangements.

Ericsson said a full breakdown of the individual transactions is attached to its announcement.
