The battle for power, revenge, and survival is far from over as Disney+ and Hulu prepare to bring back their acclaimed Korean crime noir series, Made in Korea, for a highly anticipated second season this September.

The six-episode follow-up will premiere on September 9, with Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung, and Woo Dohwan returning to reprise their lead roles. The new season will stream exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu, continuing the intense rivalry that captivated audiences during the show's debut.

Season two resumes after the dramatic fallout of Baek Kitae's calculated move to frame prosecutor Jang Geonyoung. Now portrayed as an even more powerful figure, Kitae, played by Hyun Bin, has secured the position of deputy director within the Korean CIA. His growing political influence is matched by the rapid expansion of his underground drug empire, making him one of the country's most dangerous power brokers.

However, his past actions continue to cast a long shadow.

Jang Geonyoung, portrayed by Jung Woosung, returns determined to settle unfinished business. Emerging after years in the shadows, the relentless prosecutor embarks on a revenge mission that has been nearly a decade in the making. As political instability and public dissatisfaction intensify, both men are pushed into a deadly confrontation, each willing to go to extreme lengths to destroy the other once and for all.

Woo Dohwan also reprises his role as Baek Kihyun, Kitae's younger brother, whose complicated relationship with the powerful crime boss is expected to play a significant role as the story unfolds.

Behind the scenes, the creative team remains unchanged. Acclaimed screenwriter Park Eunkyo returns after penning the first season, adding to a portfolio that includes The Silent Sea and Mother. Director Woo Minho, known for Inside Men and The Man Standing Next, also returns to helm the new season, maintaining the gritty storytelling and cinematic style that defined the series' debut.

Production is once again handled by Hive Media Corp, the studio behind successful Korean films including Inside Men, The Man Standing Next, and 12.12: The Day.

Disney+ and Hulu will launch the new season with a two-episode premiere on September 9, followed by two additional episodes released every Wednesday until the finale on September 23.

The announcement follows the strong performance of the series' debut season, which became Disney+'s most-watched Korean original series premiere across the Asia-Pacific region in 2025. The first season introduced viewers to Baek Kitae, an ambitious KCIA agent who secretly operated an illegal smuggling network while serving as a government intelligence officer. His double life eventually collided with prosecutor Jang Geonyoung, whose refusal to compromise set the stage for the fierce rivalry that now continues into season two.

Made in Korea remains a key title in Disney+ and Hulu's expanding Korean content lineup. The streaming platforms continue to strengthen their slate with productions including A Shop for Killers Seasons 1 and 2, The Manipulated, which follows a man seeking revenge after being wrongfully imprisoned, and Tempest, a political thriller centered on a conspiracy threatening stability across the Korean Peninsula.
