Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has paid tribute to his late friend and colleague, Alex Ekubo, three months after his death, reflecting on the memories they shared during their years together.
Ogbonna marked the three-month remembrance by taking to Instagram to share a touching video featuring moments from their time together. The compilation captured their friendship and the bond they maintained over the years.
Accompanying the tribute on his Instagram Story, Ogbonna wrote: “3 months an Angel”.
Ekubo, who died in May 2026 at the age of 40, reportedly passed away following complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
His death sent shockwaves through Nollywood, with colleagues, friends and fans mourning the actor and remembering his contributions to the Nigerian film industry.
The actor was later laid to rest in Arochukwu, Abia State, in June. Family members, friends and several colleagues from Nollywood attended the funeral to pay their final respects.
For Ogbonna, the latest tribute reflects the continuing grief and affection surrounding Ekubo’s death, as colleagues and loved ones continue to remember the actor months after his passing.
