Singer describes late mother as his “reason,” “guardian,” “twin” and “everything”

Nigerian singer Alexander Adelabu, popularly known as Magixx, is mourning the death of his mother, Esther, in a deeply personal tribute that revealed the profound bond they shared.

The 26-year-old artiste announced her passing on social media, describing the loss as one of the most painful and difficult experiences of his life. In an emotional message, Magixx said he was still struggling to come to terms with the reality that his mother was gone.

“I have never felt pain like this, never been this lost. Still processing that this is real, can’t believe this will happen to you Mom,” he wrote.

The singer’s tribute painted a picture of a woman he regarded not only as his mother but also as a source of strength, companionship and inspiration throughout his life.

Magixx recalled the years his mother spent battling illness, noting that she continued to show courage and warmth despite the difficulties she faced. According to him, she devoted herself to helping her family, friends and even strangers during the last six years of her life.

“I watched you fight so hard for your family, friends and strangers, especially these last six years, with a smile on your face, full of life, even in sickness! The strength of your heart!” he wrote.

Beyond her resilience, Magixx remembered Esther for her personality and the ease with which she connected with people. He described her as free-spirited, witty and kind, qualities that, he said, made it difficult for anyone who encountered her not to become fond of her.

“Nobody comes in contact with you and not fall in love with your free spirit, wittiness and kindness,” he said.

The singer also reflected on the depth of their relationship, using a series of intimate descriptions to convey the place his mother occupied in his life.

“You are my reason, my why, my guardian, my twin, my everything. Super proud that you are the one who birthed me, and I’ll choose you again and again in every lifetime, every cycle,” he wrote.


His words underscored the sense of personal loss that accompanied her death, as he acknowledged that her place in his life could never be filled by anyone else.

“I am going to miss you so much! Nobody can take your place,” Magixx added.

Despite his grief, the singer ended his tribute on a hopeful and spiritual note, framing his mother’s death not as a final farewell but as a temporary separation.

“This isn’t goodbye, it’s goodnight, as we will surely meet again in the morning, my queen. I love you to infinity and a billion lifetimes. Thank you, Esther,” he wrote.
