Former Big Brother Naija housemates Araga and Abi have reflected on their time in the reality show, sharing insights into their personalities, relationships, emotional challenges and plans for life after the competition.

In an interview on Wednesday, Araga said he left the house without finding love, explaining that romance was not a major part of his experience on the show.

“I’m not a lover boy,” he said, while reflecting on his time in the house.

Araga described his overall experience as “neutral,” saying his preference for peace and a quiet environment influenced how he navigated the competition.

He explained that he maintained his composure by focusing on things that made him happy, adding that his calm disposition was simply part of who he was.

According to him, remaining level-headed should not be mistaken for a lack of emotion or engagement.

He also discussed his relationship with fellow housemate Timi, saying their closeness meant they were comfortable confronting each other whenever disagreements arose.

Araga revealed that Timi sometimes referred to him as “Big Daddy,” a nickname that reflected the nature of their relationship in the house.

The former housemate said he never considered changing his personality merely to fit into the demands of the competition.

Rather than adopting a different character for the cameras, Araga said he remained true to himself throughout his stay.

Looking beyond the reality show, he said fans should expect to see more of him, particularly in fashion modelling and acting. He also disclosed plans to establish his own brand as he builds his career outside the Big Brother Naija platform.

For Abi, her time in the house represented a period of significant personal growth, despite the emotional difficulties she encountered.

She described herself as an emotional person and admitted that she cried several times during the competition. However, she said the experience ultimately made her bolder and more confident.

Abi recalled moments when she felt targeted by other housemates, saying her comments were sometimes met with opposition or counterarguments.

Over time, however, she said she learnt not to allow such situations to overwhelm her.

She explained that one of her biggest lessons from the experience was learning to respond confidently without feeling compelled to constantly explain or defend herself.

For Abi, beauty also extends beyond appearances or material possessions. Asked what beauty meant to her, she said, “Beauty is simply being happy.”

She added that she was not preoccupied with owning the latest things, suggesting that personal happiness mattered more to her than keeping up with trends.

The reality star also opened up about a particularly difficult personal moment during her stay in the house — spending her first wedding anniversary away from her husband.

She said being separated from her husband on such an important occasion was difficult, especially because she was serving as Head of House at the time and had additional responsibilities to handle.

Despite missing the anniversary celebration, Abi said she and her husband planned to make up for it now that she had left the show.

She said they intend to celebrate together, have fun and create their own memories after her return home.

Abi also reflected on how the reality show affected her perception of relationships and the people around her.

Addressing negative perceptions of her, she said the experience ultimately helped her recognise the genuine affection and support she receives from people close to her.

She added that she had learnt to distance herself from people who did not like her rather than spend energy trying to win their approval.

With her attention now shifting to life after Big Brother Naija, Abi disclosed plans to venture into catering while exploring other opportunities to make money and build a sustainable career.

For both former housemates, life after the reality show appears to be centred on personal growth and turning the exposure gained from the platform into new opportunities.

While Araga is looking towards fashion, acting and entrepreneurship, Abi is seeking to channel her experience and newfound confidence into catering and other ventures beyond the Big Brother Naija house.
