Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has been permanently banned from TikTok following repeated violations of the platform’s community guidelines.
The ban, which took effect on Wednesday, has cut off the entertainer from one of his major digital platforms, where he had amassed a significant following through comedy skits, music-related content and livestreams.
TikTok confirmed the development in a notification to the content creator, stating: “your account was permanently banned because of multiple policy violations.”
The permanent suspension means Carter Efe can no longer use his main TikTok account to publish short-form videos, interact with followers through the platform or host live broadcasts.
Carter Efe, whose real name is Oderhohwo Joseph Efe, initially gained widespread attention through his comedic content on social media. His distinctive style and frequent collaborations with other Nigerian entertainers helped him build a large online audience.
He later expanded his brand beyond comedy, venturing into livestreaming and music. His growing influence in Nigeria’s entertainment space has also seen him become associated with music promotion and viral online trends.
