Nigerian DJ and music producer Michael Adeyinka, popularly known as DJ Tunez, has added another major honour to his career after winning the Best DJ Africa award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards, AFRIMMA.
The celebrated disc jockey announced the achievement on his official Instagram page, where he expressed gratitude to the organisers and fans who supported his nomination and voted for him.
“Ogbafia number 1. God bless @afrimma & everyone that voted!. Best DJ Africa & the world!,” he wrote.
The award further strengthens DJ Tunez’s reputation as one of the Nigerian DJs making a significant impact beyond the country’s entertainment scene.
He is particularly recognised for his longstanding association with Nigerian superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, as well as his collaborations with several leading artistes across the African music industry.
His work has helped position him not only as a prominent DJ but also as a producer and creative force within Nigeria’s rapidly expanding music ecosystem.
The AFRIMMA recognition comes as another indication of the growing influence of Nigerian DJs and producers, whose roles have increasingly extended beyond live performances to include music production, artist collaborations and the creation of globally recognised sounds.
