Netflix has officially announced KPop Demon Hunters: The Immersive Experience, a new adventure that expands the story of Rumi, Mira and Zoey while allowing audiences to participate directly in the action.
The experience will debut at Netflix House Dallas on November 12, before expanding to Netflix House Philadelphia on November 20.
Rather than simply recreating scenes from the movie, the attraction features an original storyline that places visitors alongside HUNTR/X as the pop trio prepares for another performance during its world tour.
But the group's plans quickly take a supernatural turn when Gwi-Ma interrupts the festivities.
Visitors will then join HUNTR/X on a mission through a stylised, neon-filled Seoul, where they must help restore the Honmoon and “Takedown” the demons threatening the world.
The experience combines interactive sets, large screens, 3D technology, live performers and animation. Guests will participate in music-based and game-based challenges as the story progresses, turning the audience from spectators into participants.
For fans who have spent months watching HUNTR/X battle demons from their living rooms, the attraction offers an opportunity to experience the fictional universe from inside the story.
Marian Lee, Netflix’s chief marketing officer, said the project was developed in response to fans who wanted to do more than simply watch the film.
“Fans don’t just want to watch KPop Demon Hunters, they want to live in the world of HUNTR/X. Netflix House is where fandoms like this get to live year-round, so it’s the perfect home for everything KPop Demon Hunters fans have been asking for. Singing the songs they already know by heart, facing off with demons, hanging out with Derpy Tiger – every detail is built so fans of all ages can feel, hear and see this world exactly the way they imagined it.”
The music takes centre stage
Music will remain a major part of the experience, reflecting the central role K-pop plays in the film's story and identity.
Visitors will encounter songs from the movie's acclaimed soundtrack during the adventure, including “How It’s Done,” “Soda Pop” and “Golden.”
The soundtrack has become one of the most recognisable elements of the franchise, helping propel the animated film beyond its original screen story and into wider pop-culture conversation.
Netflix is also planning additional attractions around the experience at both locations.
Fans will be able to purchase new KPop Demon Hunters merchandise, sample themed food and drinks and take part in exclusive photo opportunities.
According to Netflix, the additions form part of a broader strategy for its permanent Netflix House venues, with attractions and offerings expected to change over time according to the films, series and franchises attracting the most interest from audiences.
Ticket prices and VIP packages
Tickets for KPop Demon Hunters: The Immersive Experience start at $39, while children's tickets for visitors aged three to 12 begin at $34.
A VIP package will also be available, starting at $89 from Monday through Thursday and $99 from Friday through Sunday.
The VIP package includes all-day access to the Netflix House VIP Lounge, priority entry to the immersive experience during operating hours on the selected date and an exclusive themed gift, while supplies last.
The attraction is designed to give fans a more hands-on way to experience the world of HUNTR/X, combining music, performance, technology and live interaction.
And with Gwi-Ma back in the picture, visitors will apparently have more than selfies and merchandise to worry about.
KPop Demon Hunters: The Immersive Experience opens November 12 at Netflix House Dallas, followed by November 20 at Netflix House Philadelphia.
