Polaris Bank has reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer experience and delivering greater value as it joins organisations around the world to mark the 2026 Customer Service Week from October 5 to 9.
The bank said this year’s celebration, themed “The Extra Mile,” would provide an opportunity to strengthen its customer-focused culture while recognising employees whose efforts have contributed to improved service delivery.
According to a statement issued by the bank on Tuesday, the theme reflects the institution’s continued efforts to place customers at the centre of its operations and respond to changing expectations within the banking industry.
The lender said its approach to Customer Service Week goes beyond appreciating customers, noting that the annual event also provides an avenue to celebrate employees who consistently demonstrate exceptional service and promote customer-centric practices across the organisation.
Polaris Bank said its service culture had evolved over the years, with previous Customer Service Week themes including “Dream Team” in 2020, “Team Service” in 2023 and “Mission: Possible” in 2025.
According to the bank, the themes have reflected its efforts to build a coordinated service culture and overcome operational challenges while delivering improved experiences to customers.
The bank also pointed to external recognition of its customer experience efforts, citing the 2022 KPMG Customer Experience Survey, in which it emerged as the most improved bank in the retail segment after moving five places to sixth position.
Speaking ahead of the 2026 celebration, Polaris Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Kayode Lawal, said customer feedback and trust remained central to the bank’s growth strategy.
“Customers are at the heart of everything we do. Their feedback, trust and partnership challenge us to keep improving and delivering value every day. Customer Service Week is an opportunity to recognise that relationship and remind ourselves that great service must go beyond expectation,” he said.
The bank said the 2026 theme, “The Extra Mile,” was particularly relevant to the changing demands of banking customers, who increasingly expect faster responses, clearer communication, simpler processes and more proactive assistance.
It noted that the service commitment would cut across its various customer touchpoints, including physical branches, contact centres and digital platforms such as VULTe.
Polaris Bank said several activities had been scheduled for the week, including customer engagement initiatives and the recognition of internal service champions across its platforms.
The lender said the initiatives were designed to reinforce its objective of making exceptional customer service part of its everyday operations rather than limiting the focus to the annual celebration.
The bank's emphasis on service improvement comes as financial institutions continue to expand digital and physical channels for customer interaction, increasing the importance of responsiveness and ease of access in the overall banking experience.
For Polaris Bank, the 2026 Customer Service Week is therefore positioned not only as a celebration of customers and frontline employees, but also as an opportunity to reinforce the service standards it says should define its relationship with customers throughout the year.
