Version 4.6 combines a supernatural gaming experience with a Magixx music collaboration, while Team Pride secures Nigeria’s ticket to the PMGO Africa stage.

The Nigerian gaming community is entering a new phase of action and competition as PUBG MOBILE rolls out Version 4.6, launches a collaboration with Nigerian Afro-pop star Magixx and crowns Team Pride as champions of the 2026 PUBG MOBILE National Championship (PMNC) Nigeria.

The latest developments bring together three increasingly prominent elements of Nigeria’s gaming culture — competitive esports, African music and youth-oriented technology — while giving players new content to explore on the battlefield.

At the centre of the latest update is the new Vampire Hunters theme, which introduces a darker, supernatural atmosphere to the PUBG MOBILE battle royale experience.

The themed update gives players additional gameplay experiences and features as they navigate the battlefield, compete against opponents and attempt to survive until the end.

The update also extends beyond gameplay through PUBG MOBILE’s official Version 4.6 Africa campaign collaboration with Magixx.

Built around the theme “BE THE ONE,” the partnership combines gaming and Nigerian popular music while promoting ideas of confidence, teamwork and perseverance.

From September 24 to October 23, players will be able to participate in the limited-time Unlock Magixx Style event. Players who log in, complete missions and participate in matches can collect Magixx poster pieces and unlock a range of rewards.

Among the rewards available are a Magixx Avatar Frame, Voice Pack, Lobby Music and an exclusive outfit or skin.

Players will also be able to use Magixx’s “Be The One” as their lobby music, bringing the Nigerian artiste’s contribution into the game experience.

The collaboration reflects the growing relationship between gaming and popular culture, with music increasingly becoming part of how major gaming titles engage players and build communities around new releases.

Team Pride takes national crown

While the Version 4.6 update is expanding the entertainment side of PUBG MOBILE, the competitive scene reached a major milestone with the conclusion of the PMNC Nigeria 2026 Finals on September 13.

The tournament brought together some of Nigeria’s leading PUBG MOBILE teams, with competitors battling for national recognition, prize money and the opportunity to represent the country at the PMGO Africa stage.

Team Pride emerged as national champions after a closely contested competition.

The victorious line-up featured Begho, whose full name is Oluwadamilola Oladele, alongside Kwila Obadiah, Chico, whose full name is Maude Usman, and Finish, whose full name is Farid Mahri.

The team collected the tournament’s $3,000 cash prize, while Begho was additionally named the competition’s Most Valuable Player.

Neon Outlaws finished as first runners-up, while Tribe Warriors secured the second runners-up position to complete the top three.

For Team Pride, the victory marks another step in the country’s growing competitive gaming ecosystem, with the team now preparing to carry Nigeria’s flag onto the PMGO Africa stage.

The championship also demonstrated the increasing commercial interest surrounding esports in Nigeria.

Technology and lifestyle brands including Infinix, oraimo and itel supported the tournament, contributing products, technology and rewards while strengthening their connection with the country’s gaming audience.

Speaking on Infinix’s involvement, Nosa Stephen Ekaghe highlighted the company’s sponsorship through the Infinix GT 50 Pro, the device used by players during the competition.

Designed with gamers, creators and professionals in mind, the smartphone comes with gaming-focused features including Hydro-Cooling and GT Triggers.

For oraimo, the tournament provided another platform to connect with a community whose interests extend beyond gaming itself.

Bella Ibrahim, Content Creation Manager at oraimo, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to supporting gamers with products and accessories designed to complement their everyday lifestyles.

itel also joined in celebrating the champions. David Chuks Obikwame, ATL Marketing Manager at itel, marked Team Pride’s victory by presenting the winning team with new itel air conditioners.

The involvement of these brands reflects the expanding commercial ecosystem around esports in Nigeria, where competitive gaming increasingly intersects with smartphones, accessories, entertainment, consumer technology and lifestyle products.

Gaming meets Nigerian music and youth culture

The latest PUBG MOBILE developments point to an industry that is increasingly looking beyond the traditional boundaries of video games.

The Version 4.6 update gives players a new supernatural setting, while the Magixx partnership connects the game with Nigeria’s vibrant music scene. At the same time, the PMNC Nigeria 2026 Finals demonstrate the competitive pathway available to players seeking to progress from domestic tournaments to continental esports competitions.

For Nigerian players, the combination creates multiple entry points into the PUBG MOBILE ecosystem — whether through casual gameplay, limited-time events, music collaborations or organised competitive gaming.

With the Vampire Hunters theme now part of the game, Magixx’s music integrated into the Version 4.6 campaign and Team Pride preparing for PMGO Africa, PUBG MOBILE is continuing its push to position gaming as an intersection of entertainment, technology, competition and youth culture.

The latest campaign carries a simple message to players:

“BE THE ONE.”
