Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has hinted that she may be stepping away from the dating scene after expressing frustration over men she says have wasted her time.
The singer made the disclosure during a TikTok livestream on Monday, where she told viewers that she had “left the streets” and no longer had to deal with the frustrations associated with dating.
“I don’t like it when guys waste my time. But for me, never again. I don’t have that problem anymore. I have left the streets; I wouldn’t even say I was ever on the streets,” Tems said.
Although the singer did not elaborate on what led to the declaration, her comments quickly attracted attention from fans and followers, with some speculating about whether the statement could be linked to a new relationship.
Tems, however, did not confirm that she is romantically involved with anyone, nor did she indicate that her remarks were prompted by a particular person or recent event.
The singer has generally maintained a low profile when it comes to her private life, rarely discussing her romantic relationships publicly. Her decision to keep that aspect of her life away from the spotlight has often left fans to interpret occasional comments about love and relationships.
In an earlier interview with YouTuber Korty EO, Tems discussed some of her experiences with men who approached her romantically.

The singer said she values genuine connections and would rather pursue relationships built on sincerity and mutual understanding than those centred primarily on physical attraction.
Her latest remarks have therefore renewed public interest in her views on romance, although Tems has yet to offer any indication that she is entering or has recently entered a new relationship.
