Nigerian e-commerce company Konga is preparing to launch the 2026 edition of its annual Yakata sales festival, with the month-long shopping campaign expected to offer deeper discounts, expanded product categories and improved delivery services to consumers across the country.

The sales festival, which has grown beyond a conventional promotional event, is positioned by the company as an opportunity to ease household spending pressures, support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and stimulate commercial activity during the festive shopping season.

In a statement, Konga said the 2026 edition was expected to build on previous campaigns through more competitive pricing, broader product availability and greater convenience for shoppers.

“This is not a marketing gimmick; it is economic practicality at scale,” the company said.

Although Konga has teased November 1 as the expected start date, the statement described the launch as anticipated, with industry watchers expecting the festival to raise the bar compared with previous editions.

The company said shoppers should expect deeper discounts across an expanded range of products, including items available at Konga's retail stores. The campaign is also expected to feature enhanced payment flexibility through KongaPay and same-day delivery services powered by KongaNow.

The planned improvements are aimed at making the shopping experience more affordable and convenient while enabling customers to access essential household goods and other products through the platform.

Focus on Household Savings, Small Businesses

Konga said the Yakata festival offers benefits beyond discounts, particularly for households seeking to manage their budgets and for small businesses looking to expand their customer base.

“For shoppers, this is more than an opportunity to save; it is a chance to invest in household stability,” the statement said.

The company added that small and medium-sized sellers operating on its marketplace would have an opportunity to reach a wider pool of customers during the high-traffic shopping period.

The festival is also expected to contribute to commercial activity by encouraging transactions between consumers, retailers and marketplace vendors.

“For Nigeria, it is a proven mechanism for stimulating commerce and easing the burden on families,” Konga said.

The annual campaign has become a major feature of the company's promotional calendar, bringing together product discounts, payment options and delivery services in an effort to attract shoppers during the busy end-of-year retail period.

With the 2026 edition approaching, attention will be on the scale of the discounts, the range of participating products and the company's ability to deliver orders efficiently as shopping volumes increase.

While Konga has outlined the broad features of the upcoming festival, further details on participating products, specific discount rates and the final launch arrangements are expected to clarify what customers and marketplace sellers can expect from this year's campaign.
