Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly turned down an approach from influential football agent Jorge Mendes’ camp, insisting that he is happy at Galatasaray and prefers to continue working with his lawyer.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük disclosed the development during an appearance on 343 Digital, claiming that Umberto Saldavor, identified as Mendes’ chief adviser, travelled to Istanbul about three weeks ago to meet the Nigerian forward.

According to Küçük, the meeting was aimed at offering Osimhen access to some of Europe’s biggest football clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

“During the offer, he used the phrase ‘Barcelona, Real Madrid, whichever you want, I can take you there,’” Küçük said, recounting the reported conversation.

However, Osimhen was said to have rejected the proposal, making it clear that he was satisfied with his current situation in Turkey.

“Osimhen rejected this offer: ‘I only work with my lawyer, I'm happy at Galatasaray,’” the journalist reported.

Mendes is one of football’s most prominent agents and was formerly the representative of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. His reported camp’s interest in Osimhen has further drawn attention to the Nigerian striker’s standing in the European transfer market.

Osimhen became a permanent Galatasaray player in July 2025 after the Turkish champions reportedly paid €75 million to secure his services. His move followed an impressive loan spell during which he established himself as a key figure in the club’s attack.

The Nigerian international has continued to attract attention from major clubs, with reports previously linking him to lucrative offers from European sides and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.

Some reported bids have reached between €120 million and €130 million, although the details and status of those approaches have varied.

Osimhen’s reported response to Mendes’ representative suggests that his immediate priority may be maintaining his position at Galatasaray rather than pursuing another transfer.

The striker has become an important figure for the Istanbul club, where his goalscoring ability, physical presence and attacking intensity have made him a central part of the team’s ambitions.

While Barcelona and Real Madrid remain among the most prestigious destinations in world football, the reported exchange indicates that Osimhen is not necessarily prepared to leave Galatasaray simply for the prospect of joining another elite club.

However, the account of the meeting and the reported offer has not been independently confirmed by Osimhen, Galatasaray or Mendes’ representatives.

For now, the Super Eagles forward’s reported stance is clear: he is content with life at Galatasaray and intends to maintain his existing working relationship with his lawyer, despite the prospect of opportunities at some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
