Flights from Singapore Changi Airport will see the MAX deployed on routes to cities including Kathmandu, Bali, Cairns, Manila and Ho Chi Minh City, as the airline continues to take delivery of additional aircraft.
The carrier currently operates 26 Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft, with three more expected to join the fleet. Once those deliveries are completed, Singapore Airlines is planned to have 29 MAX jets.
737 MAX Route Network
Across the winter schedule, the Boeing 737-8 MAX is expected to serve 28 destinations from Singapore.
The network will cover a broad selection of Asian and Australian cities, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Guangzhou, Hanoi, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Cebu, Da Nang, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Yangon, Phuket and Darwin.
Several destinations will see changes when the winter timetable takes effect. Ho Chi Minh City will join the MAX network from October 25, while Bali will see the aircraft return with as many as three daily rotations.
Cairns is scheduled to switch from the Airbus A350 to the Boeing 737-8 MAX on December 1, with the narrow-body aircraft taking over the daily service.
Kathmandu will also feature prominently in the winter network. Singapore Airlines plans to operate the Singapore-Kathmandu route exclusively with the 737-8 MAX from November 30, 2026, until February 28, 2027.
More MAX Flights This Winter
The growing fleet will allow Singapore Airlines to significantly increase the number of MAX flights operated each week. At the busiest point of the winter schedule, the aircraft is expected to operate up to 714 passenger flights per week, accounting for more than a quarter of the airline's total weekly passenger operations.
Fourteen destinations are expected to be served exclusively by the Boeing 737-8 MAX during the winter period. These include Brunei, Busan, Cebu, Chongqing, Cochin, Da Nang, Darwin, Medan, Penang, Phuket, Shenzhen, Siem Reap, Xiamen and Yangon, according to Mainly Miles.
Frequency increases are also planned on several routes. Da Nang will rise to three daily flights, while Phuket will see as many as six daily services. Cochin and Siem Reap will each move from three weekly MAX flights to daily operations.
Some of the Longest MAX Routes
Despite being a narrow-body aircraft, the 737-8 MAX will be used on some of Singapore Airlines' longer regional routes.
The Singapore-Busan service is expected to be the airline's longest scheduled MAX operation during the winter season, with flight times reaching around 6 hours and 50 minutes.
Cairns will also rank among the longer MAX sectors once the aircraft takes over in December, with flights lasting up to approximately 6 hours and 45 minutes. By comparison, the shortest MAX service in the network, to Kuala Lumpur, can take around 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Singapore Airlines configures its Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft with 154 seats across Business Class and Economy Class. The aircraft features the airline's newer narrow-body cabin, including lie-flat Business Class seats, while Wi-Fi is available to passengers in both cabins.
Travellers who want to check the aircraft assigned to their flight can find the information in Singapore Airlines' booking system. The 737-8 MAX may also be listed as “7M8” under IATA aircraft codes or “B38M” under ICAO-based systems.
