Jose Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has denied he was planning on leaving Manchester United, describing the rumours that he is heading for the exit as “totally untrue”.
In a statement released on Friday, Mendes insisted that Mourinho was planning his long-term future at Old Trafford and the “club is very happy with him”, despite his team being winless in four games.
He said: “There have been more rumours of Jose Mourinho leaving Manchester United.
“It’s totally untrue. José is very happy at the club and the club is very happy with him.
“He has a long-term contract with Manchester United and is fully committed to the club in building a solid winning project.”
United are currently eight points off the Champions League places and 18 behind rivals Manchester City at the top of the league.
