Afrofusion superstar Burna Boy wowed fans in Houston on Saturday night, becoming the first African artist to headline the city’s major arena twice. The Grammy-winning performer showcased his global appeal with a dynamic set that included fan favourites like It’s Plenty, accompanied by dazzling red and orange pyrotechnics. Audience members captured the night on video, showing glowing wristbands and fans filling much of the lower bowl, dancing and singing along throughout the performance.

Despite the high-energy show, footage of some sparsely filled upper-level seats sparked debates on social media about the turnout. Supporters defended Burna Boy’s North American popularity, while critics suggested the visuals may not have reflected the scale of his success.

The Houston concert comes after earlier online criticism during a previous tour stop, when Burna Boy was reprimanded for removing sleeping fans, including one who was grieving. Nonetheless, anticipation for his US performances has remained strong, with multiple shows already sold out and more scheduled across North America.

Although official attendance figures have not been released, Burna Boy’s team described the tour as a major success, highlighting his historic repeat headline in Houston and ongoing momentum as a leading African artist on the global stage.
