In a grand ceremony held at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, Lafarge Africa Plc, a leading provider of innovative and sustainable building solutions, honoured its top customers and transporters at the 2025 Customer & Transporter Awards on Saturday, February 21.

The annual event brought together a vibrant gathering of stakeholders, including the Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Lagos State, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Cross Rivers State, members of Lafarge Africa Plc’s Board—Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi, Mrs. Olusola Oworu, and Mrs. Elenda Osima-Dokubo—and the company’s management and staff. The ceremony served not only as a celebration of outstanding performance but also as a testament to the enduring partnerships that underpin Lafarge Africa’s growth across Nigeria.

Regarded as the pinnacle of Lafarge Africa’s commercial calendar, the awards recognise the dedication, integrity, and resilience of customers and transporters whose efforts ensure the company’s products reach every corner of the nation. The 2025 edition highlighted partners whose unwavering commitment has reinforced Lafarge Africa’s market leadership, even amid evolving economic realities.

Among the top honourees, Elder Ubong Bassey Obot of Ubotex Nigeria Limited was crowned the National Volume Champion, receiving a 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser for his exceptional performance. First and second runners-up titles went to Igwe Cosmas Ezeumeh Chizoba of C.C. Umeh and Sons Limited and Chief Etim Effiong Okon of Batoframoje Enterprises, who were awarded a 2026 Toyota Prado and a 2026 Toyota Fortuner, respectively.

In the National Best Transporter category, B.I.G MultiQuest Nigeria Limited emerged victorious and received a 2026 Toyota Hilux. Additionally, two customers who achieved National Growth Champion status were rewarded with 15KVA generating sets, while four regional champions were presented with Toyota RAV4 vehicles. Other prize categories included cars such as Changan CS55, GAC S3, Hyundai Creta, as well as 13KVA solar inverters, 80-inch Hisense televisions, and deep freezers.

Welcoming guests, Group Managing Director and CEO of Lafarge Africa Plc, Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the company’s trade partners. He emphasised that Lafarge Africa’s growth story would be incomplete without the trust, insights, and consistent support of its customers and transporters.

“We are here to honour partnership. In 2025, we expanded our retail presence, strengthened our ready-mix business, and introduced innovative products such as Ecoplanet Elephant and Ecocrete, our low-carbon cement and concrete solutions. These achievements were possible only because of the dedication of our partners,” Alade-Akinyemi stated.

Commercial Director Gbenga Onimowo described customers and transporters as “trade champions,” highlighting their role in ensuring Lafarge Africa’s products remain visible and accessible nationwide. He noted that the awards serve as an acknowledgment of their daily contributions and a motivation for continued excellence.

Echoing this sentiment, Logistics Director Osaze Aghatise underscored the vital role transporters play in connecting the company to its customers, ensuring efficient distribution and seamless access to Lafarge Africa’s building solutions.

The evening was not only a celebration of business excellence but also an opportunity for networking, entertainment, and camaraderie, featuring celebrities and notable artists. The vibrant ceremony reflected the enduring spirit of collaboration and mutual respect that defines Lafarge Africa’s relationships with its trade partners.
