EA, Valve Partner to Bring Games, EA Access to Steam

Valve Corporation and Electronic Arts have announced a new partnership today as they will bring EA Access to Steam in November. The partnership will officially kick off on November 15th with the launch of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, giving Steam players access to the game on PC. They’ve even started pre-orders today.
Here’s a couple of quotes from the press release this morning.

No word yet as to how this will impact those with EA Access accounts and their libraries, or future purchases on Steam.
“This is the start of an exciting partnership with Valve that will see us innovating for PC players around the world,” said Andrew Wilson, CEO of Electronic Arts.

“Through our subscription, great games and more, we’re excited to bring players in the Steam and Origin communities together with access to the best games, whenever and wherever they want to play.”

“This is a good day for gamers,” said Valve’s Gabe Newell.  “We’re excited to partner with EA to not only bring their great games and subscription service to Steam, but also to open up our communities to each other in an unprecedented way that will benefit players and developers around the world.”

While the new deal will bring latest EA games, some titles have long been available on Steam, including from franchises such as Need for Speed, Mass Effect, Command & Conquer, Crysis, Dead Space, Burnout, Dragon Age, and The Sims.
