    COVID-19: Nigeria Records 409 New Cases, Total Hits 24,567

    According to the latest update by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), 490 new cases of the COVID-19 infections have been recorded in Nigeria, as the total number of infections in the country rose to 24,567.

    While the number of deaths rose from 558 to 565 the number of discharge cases also increased from 8625 to 9,007.

    Confirming the new cases on its verified Twitter handle, NCDC said Lagos State is still the epicenter of the virus in Nigeria, with 118 new cases, followed by Delta with 84,   Ebonyi with 68 and FTC with 56. cases.

    Other states with new cases as follows: Plateau-39, Edo-29, Katsina-21, Imo-13, Ondo-12, Adamawa-11, Osun-8, Ogun-8, Rivers-6, Kano-5, Enugu-3, Bauchi-3, Akwa Ibom-3, Kogi-1, Oyo-1 and Bayelsa-1.

    There was a drop in the number of infections [490] reported on Sunday compared to the number [779] reported Saturday.

    Nigeria has so far tested 130,164 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 28th of June 2020, 490 new confirmed cases and 7 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 24567 cases have been confirmed, 9007 cases have been discharged and 565 deaths have been recorded in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
