    600 New COVID-19 Cases Recorded, Total Inflections Hit 35,454 in Nigeria

    The latest statistics released on Friday night by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control shows that the country recorded 600 new cases.

    The new cases confirmed by the health agency took the country’s tally of COVID-19 infections to 35,454 across 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

    According to the daily report released by NCDC, Lagos recorded the bulk of the new infections with 129 cases, while FCT, Oyo, Kano and Benue confirmed 118, 87, 55 and 42 new cases respectively.

    35 new cases of coronavirus were found in Enugu, while Kwara had 28 cases, Imo reported 16 cases, Ogun had 13 cases, Kaduna and Ondo confirmed 12 cases each, also Delta and Edo reported 11 cases each on Friday night.

    Other states affected with coronavirus infections on Friday includes: Plateau-8, Nasarawa-6, Ekiti-6, Niger-6, Borno-4, Abia-4 and Gombe-3.

    NCDC also disclosed that three COVID-19 related fatalities were recorded in the country, while 341 people were discharged after recovered from the disease.

    The health agency’s data shows that the new cases were spread across 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Nigeria has tested 206,422 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

    No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.
    Till date, 35,454 cases have been confirmed, 14,633 cases have been discharged and 772 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
