The death count due to the viral disease has gone up to 1,787
in the country with 8 more fatalities reported in a 24-hour period, the Nigeria
Centre for Disease Control’s data updated late Wednesday showed.
The health agency stated that the new cases were reported
across 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The breakdow of the
cases by state shows that Lagos state, recorded 229 infections, the highest
number of confirmed cases for the day. River
had 79, Taraba recorded 73 and Oyo confirmed 66 infections.
Ogun state confirmed 60 cases of the virus, FCT had 58, Plateau-56,
Kwara and Ondo recorded 38 cases each, Osun-24, Kano-22, Nasarawa-21, Abia, Edo
and Akwa Ibom reported 19 cases.
Also 10 infections were recorded in Cross River, Delta-9, Benue-8,
Ekiti and Borno had 6 cases each, Katsina-4, Bauchi-3, Bayelsa and Zamfara reported
1 case each.
NCDC added that the discharges includes 377 community recoveries in Lagos State, 70 in Plateau State & 28 in Benue. And data from Taraba State reported over the last three days
