Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 394 new novel coronavirus,
COVID-19 cases in 17 states and Federal Capital Territory.
The 394 cases mark an increase over Tuesday’s report when 346 were added.
With the new confirmed cases, a total of 159,646 COVID-19 infections have now been recorded
across the country.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this
via its official website.
The death toll in the nation has risen to 1,993, as five
more deaths were recorded.
Meanwhile, a total of 139,983 Nigerians reported to have recovered from
COVID-19, including 927 recoveries and discharged reported on Wednesday.
Active cases in Nigeria
now stand at 17,670, down from the previous day when it was 18,208, and down
from last Monday at 18,588.
Most of the new cases recorded Wednesday were found in Bauchi
(75), Lagos (36), Akwa Ibom (33), FCT (32), Nasarawa (29) and Kaduna (26).
Also, Rivers had 25 cases, Ogun with 22, Oyo with 21, Edo had
20, Taraba had 18, Imo and Ondo confirmed
cases 17 each.
Borno reported 8, Plateau had 7, Zamfara had 4, Osun with 3,
and Kano reported 1 infection.
