A total of 709 new cases have been identified since the last
report, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said via its official website
on Thursday night. The cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria has risen
to 157,671.
A further 12 COVID-19-related deaths have been reported. While
504 people were discharged after testing negative to the virus.
Today's discharges include 229 community recoveries in Lagos State, 144 in Imo State and 45 in Akwa Ibom State.
And 3 previously confirmed cases in Nasarawa State omitted from the cumulative report, NCDC noted.
This brings the total number of deaths to 1,951. To date
more than 136,335 people have recovered and discharged from the virus
nationally.
Active cases goes up again, about 173 new cases in 24 hours.
The active caseload in the country stands at 19,385, the data stated.
According to the NCDC the new COVID-19 cases were found in 20
states and Federal Capital Territory on Thuday.
The breakdown shows that Adamawa recorded 180 new infections,
Lagos confirmed 141, Ondo reported 60 and
Anambra 54 cases.
Other states with new cases as follows Rivers-41, Taraba-33, Edo-30, Abia-22, Kaduna-22, FCT-21, Akwa Ibom-20, Kano-20, Plateau-11, Ekiti-10, Kebbi-10, Nasarawa-10, Bayelsa-7, Ogun-5, Osun-5, Oyo-5 and Gombe-1.
