    Nigeria: 18 Additional Deaths, 122 New COVID-19 Infections Recorded on Thursday

    Nigeria's count of new COVID-19 daily cases is back above 100, with 122 new confirmed cases reported Thursday, health officials said.

    The new cases which was reported in 8 states and the Federal Capital Territory is up from 25 cases recorded a day before as it continues to battle the novel disease.

    The nation total now stands at 166,682

    According to Thursday’s report, 105 cases were recorded in Lagos, 4 cases each were found in Imo and Kaduna, 3 in Akwa-Ibom and 2 in FCT.

    While Delta, Rivers, Oyo and Ekiti reported 1 case each.

    The death toll in the nation has risen to 2,117 as 18 more deaths linked to the virus were recorded.

    However, 2,575 Nigeria residents were reported to have recovered from COVID-19 and discharged on Thursday. The total resolved cases in the country rose to 162,521.

    Active cases in Nigeria now stand at 2,044 — down significantly from the previous day when it was at 4,515.

    Nigeria Centre  for Disease Control NCDC  stated that, today’s report includes six states with 0 cases reported: Plateau, Nasarawa, Sokoto, Ogun, Osun and Ondo.
    Backlogs of data due to ongoing data harmonization from Lagos, Delta and Benue States.
