Health officials in Nigeria has announced zero  COVID-19 case Sunday, along with seven recoveries.

The country is reporting no cases of COVID-19 infections for the first time since February 27 2020 when the first case relating to the disease was announced.

The data released shows that zero cases reported from FCT, Imo, Sokoto, Nasarawa, Oyo, Ekiti, Kaduna, Edo and Rivers States.

But the health officials noted that today's update doesn't include data from Lagos State.

Health officials also confirmed no death linked to coronavirus disease reported in last 24 hours.

Since the virus was first detected, it has claimed 2,117 lives in Nigeria. However, more than 163,000 people have recovered in the country after falling ill.

Till date, 167,206 cases have been confirmed, 163,557 cases have been discharged and 2,117 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC stated.
