The health officials
said via its official website that the additional new infections brought the
total number of infections in the nation to 209,173.
It added that the nation
recorded 35 new deaths linked to the virus, which had claimed 2,804 lives since
last year.
While the nation has
successfully treated and discharged a total of 197,084 people, including 659 recoveries
reported on Saturday.
The number of active cases in Nigeria stands at 9,265, dropped by 338 on Saturday from 9,603 it was from the previous day
According to Nigeria
Centre for Disease Control NCDC, the additional cases were recorded in 13 states
and the Federal Capital Territory, with Lagos reporting 215 new cases, the
highest infections of the day, followed by Rivers, Ondo and Imo with 82, 16 and
14 cases respectively.
Other states with new cases
as follows Plateau-12, Kaduna-10, Kwara-9, Ekiti-4, Bauchi-3, Delta-3, Kano-3, Sokoto-3,
Nasarawa-1 and Oyo-1.
