    NCDC Reports 9 COVID-19 Deaths, 297 New Cases

    Nigeria reported 297 new COVID-19 cases on October 6 in 13 states and the Federal Capital Territory, down from 344 reported a day earlier, the nation's health authority said.

    The report brings the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Nigeria to 206,920 including deaths and recoveries, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC’s online COVID-19 dashboard.

    The nation deemed 176 more cases of the disease to be resolved as of Wednesday, taking Nigeria’s number of recovered patients up to 194,651.

    Nine additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported Wednesday. 2,740 Nigeria residents have reportedly died after contracting COVID-19 since the pandemic began. These are deaths that have COVID-19 listed as either the underlying or primary cause of death or as a contributing cause of death.

    Total active cases of infection in the country now stands at 9,471 up from 9,355 it was the previous day.

    Most of the new cases recorded  today were found in FCT, Lagos, Gombe, Rivers and Plateau with 104, 40, 28, 27 and 21 respectively.

    Officials also reported an additional 14 cases each in Edo and Kano, 13 cases in Kaduna, 12 cases in Benue, 10 in Osun, 6 in Ondo, 5 in Imo, 2 in Delta  and 1 case in Ekiti.
