The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are billed to launch before the end of the year or early 2023 and will likely be among the first batch of phones to adopt Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
Details of the Xiaomi 13 Pro have now leaked online, touting
a 1-inch type IMX989 50 MP primary camera and other impressive bits of
hardware.
Considering its close relationship with Qualcomm, it's no
surprise that Xiaomi could be one of the first OEMs to launch smartphones with
Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are expected to be unveiled
sometime in November or December, and a new leak has now revealed important
details of the Pro model.
According to a recent leak by tipster Mukul Sharma, the
internal testing of the upcoming Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro have begun in various
countries in Asia. The smartphones have also been tipped to launch by early
2023.
Xiaomi 13 Pro will debut with a 6.7-inch 2K LTPO display.
Presumably, it will be a 120 Hz AMOLED panel. Under the hood will be the
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, aided by up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
Camera-wise, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is tipped to adopt the Xiaomi
12S Ultra's 1-inch type sensor, the IMX989. 50 MP sensors slot in beneath the
ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, while the front of the phone houses a 32 MP
selfie shooter.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro will continue the company's camera
collaboration with Leica which began with the Xiaomi 12S series earlier in the
year. Xiaomi's second-gen in-house Surge C2 imaging chip is expected to make an
appearance as well.
Lastly, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is expected to arrive with an
Android 13-based MIUI 14 skin, a 4800 mAh battery, 120 W charging, and Xiaomi's
in-house Surge P2 charging chip. It appears Xiaomi isn't keen on equipping its
flagship phones with its new 210 W charging technology for now.
