Three Crowns Milk, a leading dairy brand from FrieslandCampina WAMCO, celebrated World Milk Day on June 1 by promoting sustainable dairy practices and engaging with communities. The brand highlighted the positive impact of sustainable dairy on consumers and the environment, aiming to raise awareness about conscious choices and healthy breakfast meals.

World Milk Day, established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), is an international celebration that emphasizes the commitment of the dairy industry to reducing its environmental footprint while providing nutritious food and sustainable livelihoods.
Chioma Otisi Igwe, Marketing Manager of Three Crowns Milk, expressed her satisfaction with the initiative, stating that it aligned perfectly with FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s vision of building a sustainable dairy value chain and contributing to the well-being of communities.

Corroborating, Mr. Kunle Abiola, Sustainability Manager, FrieslandCampina WAMCO said that the company, in line with the backward integration strategy of the Federal Government, collects up to 40,000 litres of fresh milk daily from dairy smallholder farmers across different milk collection centres in Nigeria.
According to him, the locally sourced milk from these farmers is collected through its 29 Milk Collection Centres (MCC) in the different farmer communities, then transported to the world-class FrieslandCampina WAMCO plant in Lagos where it is processed into nutritious dairy products.

On World Milk Day 2023, the dairy brand demonstrated its dedication to promoting nutrition and well-being by serving healthy breakfast meals made with Three Crowns milk and conducting health checks for 5,000 consumers in Osogbo, Osun state and in the ancient city of Kano.

Sharing her thoughts on the initiative, Mrs Idiat Fapojude, a consumer, said: “Attending the Three Crowns Milk event was a fantastic experience.
