Renowned television personality Ebuka, known for his role as the host of the widely-watched reality show Big Brother Naija, has shared insights into how and why he ventured into the entertainment sector.
Reflecting on his journey to success during an interview on
the Menisms podcast, Ebuka revealed that encouragement and backing from loved
ones were crucial in kickstarting his career in the entertainment industry.
Despite not clinching the top spot in the first season of
Big Brother Naija and facing financial challenges upon exiting the show, Ebuka
emphasized how the encouragement he received pushed him to explore
opportunities in entertainment.
He recalled the post-show period as a time of financial
strain and newfound fame, prompting him to venture into entertainment,
initially motivated by financial considerations.
He said: “Of Course, I didn’t win and then everything went
left. I had gotten the fame and I wasn’t enjoying being a lawyer and I was kind
of broke. And that’s how this started, people kept telling me that I had a
great voice and I looked good, so I started going for auditions and then I got
my first job with NTA. I started doing this strictly for the money.”
Encouraged by others who recognized his potential, he began
attending auditions and eventually secured his debut job with NTA.
