I'm Not Responsible for D'banj, Don Jazzy's Reconciliation - Mr Macaroni

Comedian and social media influencer, Debo Adebayo, known as Mr Macaroni has said that he is not responsible for the peace between singer D’banj and music executive Don Jazzy.

The skit maker said this in a post on his X account on Friday, in which he commended the musicians for settling their differences.

However, an old post from Mr Macaroni set X users speculating that Mr Macaroni “fulfilled his words” of initiating reconciliation between Don Jazzy and D’Banj.

In March 2013, Mr Macaroni on Twitter, now X, wrote, “I Have This Feeling, A Very Strong Feeling; That I Will Reconcile D’banj And Donjazzy.”

In a retweet on Friday, the funny man, also known as Daddy Wa, said that although he cannot take credit for their reconciliation, he is glad that the duo has finally made peace. Mr Macaroni who got a birthday surprise from the former business partners wrote:

“Well, I didn’t do any reconciliation because they have been cool. But I’m so glad I can come back to this tweet and smile because Jah knows I have always loved these two with all my heart!!!!”

Mr Macaroni also promoted D’banj’s new single ‘Since 04’ as he celebrated his birthday.

Don Jazzy and D’banj joined forces to establish the now-defunct Mo’ Hits Records in 2006. The label housed signed artistes like Wande Coal, Dr SID, D’Prince, and K-Switch.

But in March 2012, Don Jazzy announced that D’banj had left the group.

The defunct Mo Hit Records then consisted of artists such as Don Jazzy, D’Banj, Dr. Sid, and Wande Coal, among others.

After the breakup, Don Jazzy went on to establish another record label known as Mavin Records and took along with him, D’ Prince, Dr. Sid and Wande Coal. Subsequently, the renowned producer and MR’s CEO signed artists such Korede Bello, Di’Ja, Reekado Banks, Johnny Drille, Poe, and the DNA Twins.

On the flip side, D’Banj inked a record contract with American Kanye West’s “Good Music.”

He started DB Records and signed two producers, Jaysleek and Deevee, as well as his younger brother, K-Switch. Dbanj later signed Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, to the label.

Last week, D’banj tendered an apology to the former members of Mo’ Hits Records. The 43-year-old also revealed he will put out a track that “is dear to my heart” on Friday as part of his 20 years celebration as an entertainer.

On Friday, he released a new single ‘Since 04’.
