On Friday, the naira experienced a decline against the dollar in the official foreign exchange market, concluding the week on a negative trajectory.

Data from FMDQ indicated that the naira depreciated to N1579.89 per dollar on Friday, a decrease from N1,564.4 recorded on Tuesday, reflecting a depreciation of N15.41.

In contrast, the naira remained stable at N1600 per dollar in the black market on Friday, consistent with the previous day's rate. This decline follows a notable appreciation of the naira on Thursday.

Throughout the week, the naira faced fluctuating performance against the dollar, influenced by the Central Bank of Nigeria's implementation of the Retail Dutch Auction System.
