Kylian Mbappé will be unavailable due to a hamstring injury, as announced by Real Madrid on Wednesday.

"After conducting tests today, Real Madrid's medical team has confirmed that Kylian Mbappé has sustained an injury to the biceps femoris in his left leg," the club stated. "His recovery will be closely monitored."

While the club did not specify a timeline for Mbappé's return, he is expected to miss the upcoming derby against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish league on Sunday. Additionally, he may be absent for France's Nations League fixtures against Israel in Budapest on October 10 and against Belgium four days later.

The injury was identified a day after Madrid's 3-2 victory over Alaves in the Spanish league on Tuesday, where Mbappé netted his seventh goal since joining the club this season.

Mbappé requested to be substituted in the 80th minute. Following the match, Madrid's coach Carlo Ancelotti remarked that the injury did not seem to be severe.

The French forward has scored five goals in the Spanish league, placing him just one goal behind Barcelona's leading scorer, Robert Lewandowski.
