Renowned American rapper, Nicki Minaj, has generated significant attention on social media platforms by asserting that Nigeria will not pose a challenge for her.
This declaration was made in response to the National
Football League’s recent announcement that Kendrick Lamar will be the
headlining performer for the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans.
Minaj, known for her candid opinions, expressed her belief
that Lil Wayne, her mentor and the leader of Young Money Records, would have
been a more appropriate choice due to his profound influence on hip hop music
and his strong connection to New Orleans.
In a tweet that exhibited a blend of Nigerian humor and
defiance, Minaj employed a popular Nigerian expression to reinforce her stance.
She referenced a well-known line from Ayra Starr’s song ‘Comma’:
“Sabi Girl no dey too like talk,” and added her own twist: “LMFAOOOO. Nigeria
will not end me o! Sabi girl no Dey too like talk My words take the express
elevator to the most high chi. I will show them pepper.”
