Polaris Bank Limited, in collaboration with the Nigeria Conservation Foundation, has expanded its tree planting initiative, which focuses on nationwide land restoration, to Kano State.
A recent announcement from the bank indicated that a special
tree planting event took place at the Ajingi Community Reserve in Kunkurawa,
Kano. This initiative was launched by Polaris Bank in honor of World
Environment Day in June.
The theme for 2024 emphasizes ‘Land Restoration,
Desertification, and Drought Resilience.’ The program initially began at the
Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
During the event, Mahmud Kawu, the Divisional Head for the
North, represented the bank’s CEO, Lawal Akintola, and conveyed the bank’s
steadfast commitment to the tree planting initiative, underscoring its
alignment with the bank’s core values and its vision for a sustainable future.
