Helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, the movie debuted in theaters less than a month ago, combining never-before-seen rehearsal and live performance footage of Presley with his most celebrated songs. Since its release, Epic has grossed over $22 million at the global box office, boosting interest in the late musician’s catalog and reigniting chart activity.
On the U.K. charts, “Burning Love” has re-entered both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts. The song reaches No. 73 on the downloads-only ranking and No. 78 on the overall sales chart, marking new peak positions for the track in both categories. This represents only the second time the song has appeared as a bestseller in the U.K., with its initial charting occurring in December 2015 at No. 85.
While “Burning Love” trails some of Presley’s other major hits such as If I Can Dream and Suspicious Minds, it surpasses tracks like Blue Christmas and Always on My Mind, cementing its place among the singer’s five most notable career singles in the U.K.
Presley’s resurgence extends beyond singles. Four of his full-length albums have returned to U.K. charts this week, with two seeing notable comebacks. Elvis in Nashville reappears at No. 16 on the Official Country Compilations list, marking its 150th week among the country’s bestselling compilations. Meanwhile, ELV1S: 30 No. 1 Hits climbs to No. 93 on the Official Album Downloads chart and also rises on the Official Albums Streaming and Official Albums charts, landing at Nos. 53 and 57, respectively.
The soundtrack to Epic: Elvis Presley in Concert also maintains strong performance in its third week, appearing on multiple charts and holding a runner-up position on the Official Soundtrack Albums list. Additionally, The 50 Greatest Hits ascends more than 20 places to No. 52 on the Official Album Downloads ranking.
The renewed chart success underscores the enduring global appeal of Elvis Presley’s music, fueled by the fresh exposure from Luhrmann’s Epic, and introduces his timeless hits to a new generation of fans.
