Audio streaming service Spotify experienced outages affecting thousands of users on Sunday, as reported by outage monitoring site Downdetector.com.
Downdetector, which compiles outage data from various sources, indicated that approximately 40,602 users in the United States were impacted.
Numerous users expressed their experiences regarding the service interruption on the social media platform X.
In the second quarter of 2024, Spotify's paying subscriber count increased to 246 million.

In response to this update, users expressed their frustrations regarding the outage, noting how it affected their workout sessions and disrupted plans to stream music for a child's birthday celebration.
Approximately an hour later, the streaming service provided an update indicating that the situation had significantly improved, and the app seemed to be functioning normally.
As of 2023, Spotify remains the largest streaming service, boasting over 626 million users, including 246 million subscribers.
