Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries International appears to have responded to Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar's request for forgiveness.

In 2022, the actress publicly claimed on social media that she had a romantic involvement with Suleman, which prompted him to threaten legal action over what he described as "defamatory statements."

The situation intensified in 2023 when Halima alleged that she had become pregnant three times by the cleric. In April, a federal high court in Abuja ruled that Halima must pay N10 million in damages to Apostle Suleman for defamation.

Earlier today, Halima issued an apology to the cleric, acknowledging that her previous statements were "false and hurtful."

She expressed regret for the damage caused and sought forgiveness from Apostle Suleman and his family.

The film celebrity stated that she “was not thinking clearly at the time” and added that the apology is prompted by “profound introspection and moral compass.”

“I ask you to find a place in your heart to forgive me as I was not thinking right then. Sir, you have done a lot for humanity, extend your hands of forgiveness to me,” she said on Instagram.

In response, Suleman respectfully declined any further mediation, underscoring that forgiveness does not equate to the erasure of memories. The cleric reiterated his unwavering position on the matter.

“You all stop calling my phone. Forgiveness is not memory loss! Status quo maintained,” he wrote on X.
