Nigerian rapper Remilekun Abdulkhalid Safaru, widely known as Reminisce, has likened fame to a potent drug. In a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos, he expressed that fame can be extremely intoxicating.

To manage the pressures of fame, Reminisce adopts a perspective where he views others as colleagues rather than friends, which helps him maintain realistic expectations.

The artist has just released his much-anticipated extended play (EP) titled ‘Sui Generis,’ a Latin term meaning “unique” or “in a class by itself.”

This seven-track EP features collaborations with various talented artists, including Vector, Bad Boy Timz, Logos Olori, Bard Banks, BhadBoi OML, Easyscope, and Lucid. The tracks on ‘Sui Generis’ include ‘Kupe,’ ‘Ire,’ ‘Up As F**k,’ ‘The Ultimate,’ ‘Owo,’ ‘Scopatumana,’ and ‘Backshots.’

Reminisce is renowned for his versatility as a singer, rapper, songwriter, and actor. Originating from Ogun State, he performs in both English and Yoruba, his native language.

Since gaining prominence with his rap verse on 9ice’s ‘Gongo Aso’ album in 2008, he has remained a significant figure in the Nigerian music industry.

His early hits, ‘Ever Since’ and ‘If Only,’ propelled him into the limelight, alongside his acting role in Kemi Adetiba’s film ‘King of Boys.’

He has garnered numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including being named one of the “Seven World Rappers You Should Meet” by Time magazine in 2014. Additionally, he is the founder of Les Roses Rouge (LRR) Records.
