German cartel authorities have concluded their investigation into Meta regarding the use of personal data following extensive negotiations. These discussions resulted in the U.S. parent company of Facebook and Instagram committing to implement measures that address the raised concerns, as announced on Thursday.
Andreas Mundt, president of the cartel office, stated, "The crucial aspect is that utilizing Facebook no longer necessitates consent for the unrestricted collection and assignment of data to an individual user account, even if that data is not generated within the Facebook service."
