The existing SuperSport Select Channels will be rebranded as SuperSport Africa, and a new channel, SuperSport Action, will be added to expand access to a wider array of sporting events, including UFC and more Champions League matches.
Tope Oshunkeye, Executive Head of Marketing at MultiChoice West Africa, commented on the changes, emphasizing that the revamped channels will deliver a dynamic selection of high-quality highlights, relevant sports repeats, boxing matches, and additional content.
“The channel revamp is part of our continuous efforts to improve our sports offerings and provide our customers with unparalleled sports content that resonates with their interests. The new channels will showcase the latest global sports action while focusing on content specifically designed for the African audience. This includes local boxing, UFC events, in-depth analysis, and a variety of other engaging programming. We are dedicated to delivering the best sporting experiences to our customers and are always exploring ways to enhance their choices, provide exciting live content, and offer great value,” Oshunkeye stated.
The changes will affect various GOtv packages: SuperSport Africa will replace Select 2 (Channel 64) on the GOtv Jinja and GOtv Jolli packages. On the GOtv Max package, SS Africa and SS Africa 2 will take the place of Select 1 and Select 2 (Channels 63 & 64). For the GOtv Supa and SupaPlus packages, SS Africa and SS Africa 2 will replace Select 1 and Select 2, while SS Action will take over Select 3 (Channel 69).
