Nollywood actor and producer Yomi Fabiyi has disclosed a menacing message directed at a neighbor of the late Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, widely known as Mohbad. According to Fabiyi, this message, received on September 11, 2024, threatened both the neighbor and his children, indicating that they were under surveillance and that their vehicle's license plate was known.

Fabiyi, an outspoken advocate for justice for Mohbad, revealed that the threatening communication arrived just before he and the neighbor were set to meet with the technician responsible for the CCTV system at Mohbad’s residence. The footage from these cameras was anticipated to provide critical insights into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

He noted that Mohbad’s home was equipped with active CCTV cameras in several areas, including the staircase, living room, kitchen, backyard, and front gate. Fabiyi asserted that those present in the house were aware of the events that unfolded and that the camera footage could reveal essential information. He also pointed out that additional footage from nearby residences could serve as significant evidence.

In a firm statement to the authorities, Fabiyi emphasized that justice for Mohbad is imperative. He cautioned that if the police and government opted to obscure the case by permitting further fatalities, it would fall upon the Nigerian populace to demand accountability. Expressing his fears for his own safety, he mentioned that he is currently in hiding, even while overseas, due to threats against his life.

“My free movement is temporarily taken,” Fabiyi shared. “I am on the run because they want to assassinate me for exercising my fundamental rights.”

He accused several individuals, including an actress, a transport union member, a senior police officer, and state officials, of being part of a conspiracy against him.

Despite the risks, Fabiyi remained resolute, asserting that justice would ultimately be achieved, “Justice for Mohbad! Aluta Continua!” he concluded.
