Okuneye left Nigeria on Sunday following his release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement posted on his Instagram page on Monday, Okuneye cited the need to prioritize his mental and physical well-being as the reason for his decision.
“Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily. I need to attend to my sanity and my health.
According to him, “Few Nigerian security agencies tried everything to frustrate me, but naaa, I gat God.”
“Imagine buying a business class ticket three times; only one was successful. KLM, I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use. I know it’s not your fault, but it’s fine.
Bobrisky was re-arrested in Lagos last week by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at Murtala Mohammed International Airport while boarding a flight to London.
He was taken into custody again a few days following his initial arrest at the Seme border by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) while trying to exit Nigeria.
Bobrisky is currently under investigation after an audio recording reportedly emerged on social media, in which he purportedly stated that he had bribed EFCC officials with N15 million.
Last week, he was apprehended by the NIS at the Seme border while allegedly attempting to flee the country.
The cross-dresser is facing scrutiny after an audio clip surfaced, in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed he was allowed to serve his six-month sentence outside of Kirikiri prison due to his "influential connections."
